Windswept Farm perched on the hillside above Barton Vermont and May Pond, has an expansive view of the northern Green Mountains and southern Quebec.

Once a logging camp, then a French Canadian dairy farm, Adam Parke came to Barton and bought the farm in 1979. Adam pursued the dream of running a dairy farm until the mid eighties when milk prices dipped too low to continue on. Always enjoying sugaring season, dairy farming gave way to maple syrup and haying. Haying came to an end in the late eighties when a powerful summer thunderstorm struck the barn, ruining a summers crop of hay.

Friends, Family, connections with Bread & Puppet have enjoyed the Windswept Farm for weddings, folk festivals and other gatherings.

Slow winters lead Adam away from the farm to pursue work in New York City and commercial fisheries of the northwest. Contacts in New York City lead to selling Christmas trees in Brooklyn. For the next thirty years the farm swelled with Christmas trees.

Now the fields are back to producing hay, and pick your own blueberries. The sugarbush produces Maple Syrup.
